February was a jam-packed month with all the FYC screenings happening around town at the height of awards season. I was lucky to attend quite a few, including with Oscar-nominated stars Rose Byrne (If I Had Legs I’d Kick You), Benicio del Toro (One Battle After Another), Delroy Lindo (Sinners), Stellan Skarsgård (Sentimental Value), Jacob Elordi (Frankenstein), and Timothée Chalamet (Marty Supreme), the latter of whom made multiple in-person appearances alongside special guests for a week-long retrospective at the American Cinematheque. I ended up going to half of Chalamet’s screenings, which included a Dune double feature with Denis Villeneuve and Interstellar with Christopher Nolan, as well as Ben Affleck moderating a Q&A for his latest Oscar-nominated film. I also caught up with a few new releases that featured Q&As: Pillion with stars Alexander Skarsgård and Harry Melling and director Harry Lighton, Wuthering Heights with director Emerald Fennell, and EPiC: Elvis Presley in Concert with director Baz Luhrmann. Plus, I saw several old favorites on the big screen! I’ve highlighted a lot here already, so I’ll stop here and just go on with the rest of what I watched in February…
