As usual, this past year was filled with great movie discoveries and revisits. Though I didn’t watch quite as many movies in 2023 as I did in recent years, I still saw a ton, especially in theaters. I don’t take for granted how lucky I am to live in Los Angeles, where I have plenty of opportunities to catch some amazing screenings around town. And now that the Egyptian Theatre in Hollywood is finally back open, I know this coming year will have even more exciting big-screen events in store; not even a week into the new year and I’ve already attended a couple, including one at the Egyptian, but more on that in the wrap-up post for January. Until then though, here’s a quick look at the overall stats for my 2023 in film.
