Films in 2014 Review + 2015 Blind Spots

In this post, I’ll be going over some statistics on how my movie-viewing went this past year. I managed to get in a great number of films this year, though I watched 50 fewer new-to-me films in 2014 compared to 2013. Also included in this post is a little announcement on some of my movie-viewing plans for 2015.

New-to-Me: 402

Re-Watched: 88

Total: 490

New-to-Me Films by Decade:

2015 Blind Spots

So I didn’t accomplish as much as I wanted to as far as movie goals in 2014 (such as completing Scorsese’s and the Coen Brothers’ filmographies…hopefully, this year!). Instead of setting goals such as that, for 2015, I’ll try to watch one of these 12 movies per month. And sometime during the last week of each month, I’ll make a post about my thoughts on the movie. The movies listed are ones that I’ve been meaning to check out for a long time, whether for personal interest or because of how highly regarded they are.

2015 Blind Spots

Metropolis (1927)
Children of Paradise (1945)
Tokyo Story (1953)
Nights of Cabiria (1957)
The Leopard (1963)
The Great Escape (1963)
Persona (1966)
The Elephant Man (1980)
Cinema Paradiso (1988)
The Matrix (1999)
Oldboy (2003)
Children of Men (2006)

In taking part in the 2015 Blind Spots challenge, this blog should be slightly more active this year! Here’s to another year filled with great films.

  1. 490, Keisha! I was lucky to watch maybe 49 last year! I noticed a lot of Hitchcock on that re-watch list…very cool…I need to re-watch a lot of his as well. And of those 12 movies you want to watch in 2015, there’s a Top 10 favorite of mine in that bunch: The Great Escape. Looking forward to finding out what you thought about that one!

    • Ah yes, those re-watches were thanks to a Hitchcock class I took last winter, we went through a good chunk of his films. I’ve only heard good things about The Great Escape, I’m very excited to finally see it sometime this year!
